Yobe State Government has ordered the closure of all schools in the state to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Although, no case has been reported in the state, but the state governor, Alhaji Mai-Mala Buni has directed the closure of all public and private schools in the state for a month as part of measures to avert the spread of the pandemic.
The directive was contained in a statement released yesterday and duly signed by the State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Muhammad Idris.
The statement ordered all principals and head teachers in both public and private schools under the ministry of education in the state to take immediate action towards actualising the directive. The statement however urged students particularly those in SSG 3 and JSS 3 to use the period to study hard while at home.
